Everything seemed perfect: the family was great, the house was huge, and they had another dog for her to play with. The visit went so well that the family insisted on keeping her that same day (the rescue typically allows adopters to think on it for a few days). A few days later, we received a call from the rescue and were told that Coco and her sister weren’t getting along and had gotten into a fight. The family decided that they couldn’t keep Coco. Coco’s back with us now. Obviously, we’re very sad that the family didn’t end up being the right one for her, but we also know that it’s for the best. The adoption process doesn’t always go as planned, and we just see this as a minor speed bump in Coco’s journey to finding her forever home.
