I was very keen to get out and understand their culture and immerse myself in their way of life. One thing I discovered was the place in Tokyo where they make all the fake food to put in little cabinets in the front of restaurants, to tempt customers and help them decide what they want. They’re made out of wax and they’re really accurate - almost like a piece of art. I was fascinated by that. I bought one - a plate of spaghetti with some tomato sauce on it, and a fork.
