Those visits were like a trip to Aladdin’s Cave, except a “cave” where Aladdin had better taste and a real point-of-view. We chose items that left impressions on us from those fittings—the flowers, the porphyry, the exotic carpets and fabrics. Our work today is often inspired by visits to museums in New York City.
