Consuming less is a daily choice we can make in honoring our planet🌿
One way you can buy responsibly is purchasing second hand. I prefer quality over quantity which is why I have bought and worn LEVIS secondhand jeans for most of my life. My collection has grown over 30 years, and these are by far my favorites, bought at a vintage shop on the lower east side of NY in 1993.
I’m proud to join @levi's in launching SecondHand on Levi.com 👖
By 2030 the global clothing and textile industry is expected to to use 50% more water and produce 62% more waste than it did in 2015. 20% of industrial water pollution globally is attributable to the dyeing and treatment of textiles.
Reworking and reselling via Levi’s SecondHand saves approx 80% of CO2 emissions and 700 grams of waste compared to buying new denim.
Extending the life of clothing by just 9 months of active use would reduce carbon, waste and water footprints by 20-30% each of an item.
Imagine if we extended the lifecycle by years? This is the single most significant intervention in the life cycle of clothing!
Join our mission in buying #levissecondhand and any clothing #secondhand if you can!!!! @Levi’s
