I ditched the baggy, washed-out, out of shape undies I’d been rocking since giving birth ✌🏽& decided to dress -or undress- cute for once 💅🏽 . When I think about the punishments I used to enact upon my body - the attempts to purge and poison away all my “defects” - my hair, my “fat” thighs, (in essence many of the features connected with my blackness), as well as the intense psychological unravelling my postpartum belly would have triggered for that @emmadabiri, I feel such profound relief that I saved myself, and that needs to be celebrated!
