Andy Warhol, the undisputed king of pop-art.⁣

The inspiration comes from actors, comics and supermarket products: in the US society of the 1960s, in the midst of the economic boom, the idols to be worshiped were found on television screens and on billboards. Illustrator, advertiser, graphic designer, photographer, film maker, music and theatre promoter, communicator. Above all, an icon of the contemporary world who knew how to make himself and his life his first business and his first work of art.⁣
Fashion was a lifestyle for him. Andy Warhol in the early 1950s was a designer and advertiser for Glamour, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, designing thin-line shoes in the New Look style. The artist later creates his own unmistakable style: round glasses, striped shirt, tight pants and leather biker jackets, pieces that have become a real 'must-have' over the years. A style becomes such when it is spread through the media: print, photography, television. Therefore the artist in 1963 called several photographers to his Factory to produce a sufficient number of shots to tell his everyday life. In front of the camera, the artist posed like an expert star, capable of dictating his own rules in the fashion of the Sixties. The Factory was his home/studio, a real visionary and collective laboratory where to bring together all forms of artistic expression. From cinema to graphics, from publishing to photography, from fashion to advertising, everything was experimented here, amidst contaminations of all kinds.⁣
What is certain is that Warhol's works can be considered icons of our time: from the screen-prints of Marilyn Monroe to the cans of Campbell soup, to the portraits of Mao.⁣
