グウィネス・パルトローさんのインスタグラム写真 - (グウィネス・パルトローInstagram)「Growing up black in Ireland in the 1980s and 1990s wasn’t easy. I was born in Dublin and my mom is Irish but my father is Nigerian. We moved to the States straight after I was born, returning to Ireland a few years later. The racism I experienced once we went “home” to Ireland had a deep impact on me and set me on the course of my life’s work. I became outspoken on matters of race from a tender age but it was a lonely and exhausting existence. One place I found respite, and found the black community that I didn’t have in real life, was in books. I used to wait for my mom to finish work in a bookstore close to where she worked. That place was a sanctuary for me and I developed a lifelong love of books. They have the ability to transport you to new worlds with possibilities far beyond those of your immediate environment. Today as an author myself, it is one of the greatest privileges to be able to connect with others, especially women and young people who might be going through similar experiences to my own, and moreover for my work to be contributing to the building of a world in which such experiences can be consigned to the dustbin of history. @emmadabiri @sharethemicuk #sharethemicuk」10月1日 23時29分
