Wallpaperさんのインスタグラム写真 - (WallpaperInstagram)「The seafront of Reggio Calabria, Italy, forms the spectacular location for artist @edoardotresoldiofficial’s latest public intervention, Opera. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Tresoldi’s striking permanent installation, comprising 46 columns which peak at eight metres tall, is made in the Italian artist’s signature wire mesh, a medium he refers to as ‘Absent Matter’. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Opera is sited in an intimate seafront park which overlooks the vast Strait of Messina, with sweeping views across the Sicilian coasts. These structures are spectral, translucent and have a ‘shy and delicate physicality’ as they frame their ever-shifting backdrop. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ Through the language of classical architecture and the transparency of the material, Opera forms a space for reflection and creates a dialogue between the organic surroundings and the strict rigidity of the columns.
