We’ve been seeing your comments about Latinx vs. Latino/Latina vs. Hispanic—and it’s a good, important conversation to have. We asked Pro Team member @davidlopezzz for his take—it’s one perspective, but we love his message that there’s room to celebrate all.

In his words:
The Latinx and Hispanic community is incredibly diverse. The Latinx Community is made up of different races and even different languages. While Hispanic refers only to those that come from Spanish speaking countries.

No matter which one you use, Latino, Latina, Hispanic, Latinx- we have room to celebrate all of them! It’s powerful to recognize and celebrate the history of our colorful community. We are white, we are black, we are native, we are all of them in varying degrees. And that’s what makes us so special.
