Breonna deserved to live. She had goals and dreams. She had a family who cherished her, a boyfriend who loved her. She had a future. She had a life. At the very least, Breonna deserved justice. And sadly, under our justice system, she did not get it. Once again, our nation has shown that it values property over people, drywall over an innocent black woman’s life and wrongful death. Let us continue to fight and resist these structural systems of injustice against our black community. Let us continue to demand justice and not stop fighting until it is served.
