I found the purple wig in NYC last year and then sunglasses at a local store. Sometimes I see something in a store and think “I have to style a photo session around that.” The sunglasses did that for this shoot. For the lighting here I used a beauty dish but moved it camera left to create a bit more dimension in her face and did not use a reflector so the lighting would drop off a bit more dramatically. I also used a kicker light behind her to add highlights to the hair. One of my favorite things to do lately is hang out in my studio and experiment with different lighting techniques. It’s not something we can usually do when working with clients so it always fun to create a self project."
