@アーデム was inspired by The Volcano Lover, Susan Sontag’s portrait of the 18th-century beauty Emma Hamilton, who married a volcanologist obsessed with Grecian vases and had a passionate love affair with Lord Nelson for spring 2021. If that sounds quite heady, the clothing that resulted had a comfortable elegance that's optimistic and right for our times. “There was something cathartic and almost quite defiant about creating a collection," the designer says.
