Like Bordeaux, we were both missing @markrenshaw1 & used up many of our guys controlling the day. It was a case of “keep me as close to the front as possible to get into the last corner in the top 5”. Mick Rogers took us through the crucial part of 3-1.5km to go, the narrowest part of the course with corners and the tunnel, then Bernie Eisel once again protected me while I looked for a wheel in the last km. Cervelo seemed to be the team with most control in the final, though I remember the whole fight for the last corner being pretty chaotic. As with every year in Paris, you don’t need to save a single calorie for the next day. No more mountains. No more sprints.
