SOMM- short for “sommelier” is a refreshing edition to Hong Kong’s already vibrant dining scene. A staycation at the @mo_landmarkhk gave me a chance to try both SOMM’s breakfast and dinner menus. With over 100 wines and sakes to choose from, selected by a team of experts plus Amber sous-Chef Mario Paecke at the helm- the adventurous and refined SOMM serves a bit of that Melbourne vibe for Breakfast and Neo-French with a Japanese touch for Dinner. I truly recommend this restaurant- already in my Top 10.

For breakfast try the Coconut Yoghurt, Belgian Waffle with Dingley Dell Cumberland Sausage, or Omelette Katsu Sando. For dinner my favourites is the Dried “Umami” Sausage, Warm Duck Confit with Beetroot & Foie Gras Raspberry, Aka Uni French Toast, and the best dish of the house- the Japanese Pork Belly with Hakata Cabbage. For wine I stuck with the 2006 La Stoppa Ageno - an Orange wine from Emilia, Italy- served in a hand-blown glass for that “Full and Bold” flavour. This restaurant was definitely the highlight of my staycation. 😍
