I miss this - in many ways it was totally ridiculous. Yet, it was also totally empowering and fun and something that I can say I’m proud of from 2020 because I’ve struggled with my own body acceptance for 10 years and that is its own series of peaks and valleys of self confidence. Now, my instagram vs reality moment is that I am on a couch as I type this because there’s not too much else I can do in this stage of my hip recovery, and I just wanted to post this because it represents a silly side of a moment that I am proud I owned. I had no clue at this time, end of January, that a couple months later so many events would unfold that would be so totally different. More importantly, that having this support to embrace my muscles, enjoy my relative lack of boobs - yet in a lingerie ad (check on falling corset[bts]), to feel bold outside my comfort zone in a new way before I was cut essentially open in half… twice now (ha!) I can remember why I love my body. Maybe next time we do a shoot like this, I’ll have 8 scars to bring with me.
