Bogus Journey is better. Also it was Finn Wolfhard. I asked him if he liked Jake and Amir even though I knew the answer was yes and we talked for a few minutes about our favourite movies and comedians. Then he had to go to a record signing and I had to get back to my butternut squash soup so we parted ways. Cut to a year later. I’m eating lunch my first day on set of a movie and I don’t really know anyone yet. Finn sits down across from me and says “Hey man, I’m Finn. Do I know you?” “We actually met very briefly in Toront-“ “Oh shit, you’re the Jake and Amir kid!” We picked up our conversation where it left off and kind of never stopped talking. Another year-ish later we have a show together on Jake and Amir’s podcast network and it’s us still talking about our favourite movies and comedians. It’s a really surreal and lovely and bizarre full circle thing that I’m super grateful for. Two guys sitting at their desks are responsible for my entire sense of humour and half of my friendships.
