The hate and rhetoric that is constantly being uploaded and posted can’t be ignored anymore.

All of the false information being spread right now is doing so much harm.

I’m joining the following civil rights organizations, and over 350+ brands,
this Wednesday, September 16th and refraining from posting on my accounts.

ETA: I realize this does not SOLVE the problem of misinformation and lies spreading through social media. But I’m hoping that by seeing a “pause”, it may remind people to pause before posting something that can’t be verified, or is deliberately untruthful or hateful. This isn’t done in hopes of fixing the problem. It’s done to create some awareness of the enormity of the problem.

To be honest... I debated about doing it, because it seemed useless and unhelpful. But I paused, and thought about it. And I could really use a 24 hour break from social media.
