Let's start the day with a little tranquility with this lovely shot of the northern lights by Sigma Ambassador @babaktafreshi, captured with our 14mm F1.8 DG HSM Art lens. As usual, Babak adds some interesting notes to supplement the visuals:

"The northern lights breaks into dusk during a major aurora activity above Iceland. I felt an incredible connection to the history and culture of this far north land when the dancing lights appeared in a Viking village during my annual aurora photo workshop in September. This is where some of the earliest Nordic settlers lived in Iceland a thousand years ago. In 1104 a massive volcanic eruption ended life in the farming village. The replica turf houses were constructed near the original site, based on the archaeological findings.⁣"
