I watched the attacks happen with my mom from our living room, and I still remember the shock & deep pain of that heartbreak. Almost 20 years later, here I stand at Ground Zero - now in the city I call home, and I still feel that pain. To know what thousands of people went through, and have gone through since & because of that day, is devastating. Despite the destruction, here’s what it’s made me realize. This city can be harsh, and often hard to bear the daily grind, but it’s a beautiful thing how New York comes together in moments of need. The aftermath of that day was a testament to the strength and love New Yorkers have for each other. The tribute of The World Trade Center at Ground Zero is a powerful reminder.
