In March I was training to peak for the upcoming bouldering season and felt the strongest I’ve ever been in my life. After the first World Cup in Meirignen was delayed/canceled I shot straight outside and felt like a machine! 🦾 Climbing double digits on the daily. But since that first cancellation, quarantine, summer temps, it’s been really hard for me to stay in the groove with training, especially with the rest of the season a giant question mark. I’d hangboard sporadically here and there to maintain, but motivation was exceptionally low with the weight of the unknown. I had a hard time convincing myself to train to be ready “just in case.” Especially after getting that taste of being able to climb outside again after two years of only gym training and competing. Now that I know for certain we have no events, I feel like I can fully commit to outdoor projects and training for those. It’s like a weird reverse psychology... Send temps are on the horizon and I gotta get my head and body back in the game if I wanna chip away at my fat ticklist of local goals. Get it together, Johnson. Be a machine.
