Today marks 100 years since the adoption of the 19th Amendment into the U.S. Constitution. Though it was a historical moment in the Women’s Suffrage Movement, more work needed to be done since the same right was not given to Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color. #THISISOURTIME⠀

“As a woman of color, voting means empowerment, and it means one step closer to progress. It is a privilege because there are so many groups, such as, unhoused, undocumented, and incarcerated individuals whose voices aren't able to be heard. And, those who do have the privilege to vote need to utilize their voices to speak up not only for themselves, but for those who are unheard. I utilize my knowledge and privilege by informing communities…reminding them that their voice matters, regardless where they come from or their race.” -@ch1ngona_af

“The 19th Amendment did not give Indigenous Women or Women of Color the right to vote….now that we have right, I’m using that right to ensure that I educate my friends and family, who are not a part of the POC community, of the injustices that occur daily. So, that they also can learn and do their part to ensure a better future for us all.” -@novadonnell

“As a Black woman, voting is extremely important to me for the simple fact that my ancestors and my elders didn't always have the right to do so…and because of that, I commit to always, always, always, always, participating in every single local, state, and national election.” - @lauren.ashli

“I support BIPOC womxn in my community by elevating their voices in every conversation possible. It is not enough for BIPOC womxn to have a seat at the table, they should be the leaders in these conversation. The best way you can support BIPOC womxn in your community is by promoting equity and remembering intersectionality. ” - @hailey.hardcastle
