For National Dog Day, I’d love to help out a little senior rescue dog in Gardena, CA who was brought to my attention from the nice people at waggle.org. When I read 12-year-old Makena’s story about Gucci it reminded me a lot of Marnie. This sweet pup was adopted as a senior (at age 9, currently 11) and just like Marnie, she needs some serious dental work done ASAP.

Makena’s story inspired me to start a fund in Marnie’s memory called Marnie’s Old Pals to help out dogs who were adopted as seniors. The fund is managed by The Waggle Foundation which oversees all campaigns and sends funds raised directly to the veterinary providers. It will cost $1,700 for Gucci to get this important dental surgery. If you are in a position, please consider donating to the Marnie’s Old Pals fund.
