アシュリさんのインスタグラム写真 - (アシュリInstagram)「Yesterday (2020/8/18) marked exactly 20 years since my family immigrated to the States from Korea. I am forever grateful for my parents for sacrificing their own dreams & lives in Korea to give my brother and I an opportunity to someday make our own dreams come true... I remember entering the 4th grade just a month after we immigrated, without knowing how to speak English. I got bullied, made fun of and hated school. My brother, who was in kindergarten, cried in the school lobby everyday begging to go back home. We each had our own struggles but looking back, I don’t think I can ever imagine the struggles my parents had to go through– working in a foreign country not speaking the language, not having friends or family to depend on, and working day and night to provide for us. Even though they always struggled financially, they made sure that my brother and I never missed out on anything. They let us go on camping trips, take taekwondo classes, ballet classes, and let us experience and learn as much as possible. We thought we had everything handed to us back then but in reality, they were breaking their backs to give us the best lives. Thank you mom and dad for everything you’ve done for us. Even in those difficult times, we made the best of what we had. I can think of so many happy moments and memories that make me grateful for everything we went through. You guys motivate me to work hard so that I too, will one day be able to provide and take care of you guys the way you did for us 💗 (All the pics except the first one, were taken in NY 😌)」8月20日 0時24分 - ashleybchoi
