Finally managed to take a decent snap of this little chap. He’s been eluding me for weeks. Today I was driving in to the park and something was niggling me, telling me to go and have a look for this little guy. I drove to an area where I know they like to hang out and just as I was driving over a low water bridge, in my peripheral vision, a colour that could only be a lion caught my eye. As soon as I stopped my car he ran into the bush and I thought the whole gig was over. After a while his curiosity got the better of him and he reappeared. As he realised I wasn’t there to ‘cubnap’ him, he got more brave and posed nicely for a few pics. I felt slightly flat this morning, coming into work but after this sighting I felt invigorated! I’d just had my morning dopamine fix and was ready to tackle the day! 💪🏼💪🏼
This single cub belongs to a single lioness who isn’t part of any pride currently. She mated with a male who moves through the area but since then we haven’t seen them together again. She seems to like being on her own and has done an incredible job raising this cub.
