Remembering my hero today. My grandfather Eric (3rd from the left - 3rd row) heads to war in the east in 1941. He wouldn't be home for 5 years, others wouldn't be so lucky.
He served the RAF in India and Burma. He told me about the people he met there & if I asked him - very very rarely, he'd shed some light on the horrors of war. He didn't want to be reminded of it and never got his medals (his choise)
Like so many of his generation, their bravery and sacrifice should never be forgotten.
