Coffee can be magic.
Many coffee lovers know the story of Gesha—how the heirloom variety ignited a craze when it won the 2004 Best of Panama competition with its extraordinary perfume and kaleidoscopic flavors. Named for its native Ethiopia region, Gesha is famously finicky, requiring, it seems, not just rich soil and breathtaking elevation, but a sprinkling of fairy dust too. Despite thousands of farms attempting to replicate Panama’s success, only a handful have succeeded; Guatemala’s @elinjertocoffee is one of them. Thanks to its natural processing, this Gesha—a variety from Malawi named “Ruby” for its bright red cherry—is redolent with jammy fruit while tasting unforgettably clean. This is our latest Exceedingly Rare offering.
