There is so much to say about this song. First of all, David Bowie has got world-class pipes. But the way he chooses to hold back in the beginning, it only makes for the most triumphant release when he finally belts out in a desperate howl. And then there’s the haze of the electric guitar and synth swells that hover over like the song like a psychedelic blanket. But mostly, the feeling I get when I hear this is the Underdog IS Speaking, and we all must listen. We can beat them, forever and ever... Then we can be heroes, just for one day.
