I’ve worn these on slick river crossings, steep loose trails, scree, boulder fields, and I even crushed a 15 mile day hike in them. They instantly molded to my feet and provide the perfect amount of support in a lightweight package without all of the bulk of a traditional hiking boot. Even better, Oboz has incorporated a bunch of sustainable materials into the Sypes. The OFIt Insole is made of sustainable algal biomass, and the laces and webbing are made of recycled plastic water bottles. It makes me so happy to see one of my favorite outdoor brands taking active steps to reduce the impact of their gear. The Sypes is available now only on the REI website.
