10 years ago today, someone set off the fire alarm, causing an evacuation at Moncton University. While waiting for the fire department, I met a fresh-faced, energetic American in Aussie kit. How that conversation went is different depending who you ask, but what is certain is how grateful I am for the stars aligning that night. Now we are 3 degrees, one townhouse, countless adventures (some overseas and some just in our backyard/emergency department), 10 Australian teams, 4ish years of long distance including 7 trans-Pacific visits with teary goodbyes, two light aircrafts (or at least part of them), a bunch of arguments, 3 visas and a citizenship, one pandemic, plenty of training miles and 4.5 years of marriage in. Who knows what else this crazy life has in store, but I know it will be together. Cheers to knowing you (and whoever triggered that fire alarm) 💕
