Before this Fifth Ave triplex—made up of a separate apartment combined with a two-story cupola—was refurbished, a giant flagpole speared through the dome. Once renovations began, @peterpennoyerarchitects was able to open up the space. “It was a really major engineering feat,” he says. “But it made all the difference.”
