For @ジャックムス’ Spring/Summer 2021 collection, creative director #SimonPorteJacquemus brought a dreamlike quality to his latest runway show, taking place at Val-d’Oise—a quaint village outside of Paris in a wondrous field of wheat. “I imagined people gathered together celebrating love. Alexander Ekman’s choreography of wheat tossed passionately through the air and Emir Kursturica’s film, Time of the Gypsies with its enchanting realism.” says Jacquemus about the inspiration for the show. The collection titled “L’Amour” delivered a sense of romanticism, manifesting itself within the location and the garments, bringing hope to this new age of fashion. As Jacquemus said in a statement, “For me, the runway can’t be a video, It’s at the heart of what we do; it’s not superficial. It’s important to all of us to continue, just like a restaurant that reopens. It’s like a movie of a summer day. It’s our life.”
