In South Korea, however, industrialized dog farming is ramping up to prepare for Boknal, the three hottest days of the Korean summer where dog meat soup known as “Boshintang” is the food of choice to combat the extreme heat. THE PUBLIC IS AGAINST IT In 2018, 2 anti dog meat petitions were able to get the attention of the South Korean government after reaching their target goal of 200,000 signatures each. At the time, the government agreed they would “consider removing dogs from the livestock list”. To date, nothing has been done. “WHAT CAN I DO?” With your help, we aim to force the South Korean government to take steps toward banning the dog meat trade.
