The pandemic and the social tensions it has unleashed are likely to supercharge the forces that gave rise to the new far-right extremism. ⁠ ⁠ Although some have yet to accept it, the U.S. is in the midst of an unstoppable cultural and demographic transition into multiculturalism. This demographic shift, though, has also given rise to serious anxieties that helped enable the rise of Trump.
