Slavery was the foundation of the entire American economy. It is the reason not only for the #CivilWar, but the #RevolutionaryWar (the colonists actually feared that England might abolish slavery). America’s banking system was built to finance the domestic and international slave trade. In fact, #WallStreet derives its name from the fact that it was on a wall there that slaves were sold in New York. The #1619 Project proves that #BlackHistory is more awful, amazing and integral to #America & #Capitalism than has ever been told. ‬
