The Huntington Community Forest project in Huntington, VT, won’t just help people get outside – it will create a whole new outdoor space for them to enjoy.⠀ ⠀ Situated next to the Brewster Pierce Memorial School, the new 245-acre Huntington Community Forest will both foster outdoor learning and instill a love of the outdoors in local kids. An uncrowded alternative to nearby Camel’s Hump State Park, the forest will enhance the existing Outdoor Education program at BPMS, and provide opportunities for volunteering and outdoor activities.⠀ ⠀ This year’s three award winners bring us closer to the goal of providing access to a quality park within a 10-minute walk of every person in America. Over our 5-year partnership with The Trust for Public Land, we will help fund a minimum of 15 projects, which we look forward to sharing with you.
