Happy birthday David Hockney! 🎈 We're delighted to share one of the artist's recent iPad drawings, created during lockdown in his home in Normandy, northern France. From March 2nd to June 10th the artist made a painting every day: 'this is the most exciting time in nature in this part of the world' he says.

The work shows the tree just outside the artist's door, drawn in the setting sun, 'hence the sun on the trunk and only the lower leaves'. He says: ‘We can’t actually see the sun set because of a small hill, but from our kitchen window I can see the sun rise, which I captured for a few mornings, always different.'
