The efforts of recent protesters, particularly in Brooklyn’s Black Trans Lives demonstrations, have been moving for @ステラ・マックスウェル. “I’ve been inspired by people’s passion, compassion, tenacity, and awareness,” she says. To her, the event encapsulated #Pride’s spirit of “confidence and community,” and the importance of reaching out to the LGBTQIA people in our everyday lives, particularly during a period of isolation. “You never really know what someone is dealing with or going through,” says Maxwell. “It’s necessary to listen, to be available and aware. Remember everything we have been blessed with, especially during a time when it might be easier to count the things that are difficult or trying.”
