The scale of the industry is large, but there is still little support for actual creators/influencers. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Social Media Day, I’m pleased to announce that I have joined the @AmericanInfluencerCouncil as a Founding Member and serving as the Chairwoman of the board. AIC is the first and only not-for-profit membership trade organization led by and for creators. AIC’s mission is to advocate on behalf of career influencers and advance the structure of our trade. To sustain the integrity, viability and growth of the U.S. influencer marketing industry and advance digital marketing education as well as the art and authenticity of co-branded content. I decided to join AIC as Chair of the AIC Board Of Directors because the creator community needs a legitimized trade support structure to strengthen and help shape the influencer industry as a whole. Ushering in a new era of legitimacy for career influencers, who are American small business owners and media innovators.
