It was a tool to tell visual stories and helped me to better understand my universe. As I look at the current state of the world, I feel compelled to help others do the same. Thus, I am happy to announce a new project - Black Archivist @blkarchivist I have a simple goal- to get cameras into the hands of black people. I want to empower creativity and to give people the opportunity to show the world through their lens. To my followers and friends-there are two roads to follow- apply or donate. Apply To apply for a camera the only prerequisite is that you are Black / African American, living in the United States and you have a love of photography. You don’t have to be a Pro and could currently have a camera now and want to take that next step. The application is on the website. Donate Anyone that has extra gear around can donate. Please contact me via the website to submit what you are willing to donate. After you apply or donate, we’ll look over the applications. When a camera match comes our way we’ll connect the parties. We currently have a few cameras ready to go out!
