✨ Glass bowls like this one dating to 6th century Iran were popular because of their beautiful reflective surfaces, but also because they were designed to sit comfortably in one hand and hold a drink.
Such delicate objects would have been expensive due to the labour intensive cutting and polishing process. Swipe to see what this one might have originally looked like!
The reproduction was made in 2007 by Japanese glass artist Tami Ishida, and the two objects sit together in Room 52 of the Museum.
