When @clubcumming opened I said I wanted it to be a place for ‘all ages, all genders, all sexualities’. I should have added ‘all colours’. My omission is symptomatic of many behaviours we have all begun to face, and hopefully begun to dismantle, over the last couple of weeks. I am personally determined to do better, to help eradicate the systemic racism I have benefited from, and in addition to the information above I’m joined by my partners at @clubcumming in our quest to make the bar more welcoming and nurturing to people of colour - onstage, behind the bar and in the audiences.
I’ve always been proud of how kind the atmosphere is at @clubcumming , and I hope we can harness that spirit to come together as a community to make changes and to support those who share our ideals.
