I discovered the work of American Artist Sam Gilliam a couple years ago at David Kordansky gallery in Los Angeles. I was incredibly inspired by his approach to painting….he folds, bunches and crumples paper and canvases before he stains them in the most fabulous color stories. The staining generates an expansive sense of depth and surprise across his chosen material. #samgilliam XK
