Please, spare us the commenting of “All lives matter!” We know all lives matter. When conservationists say, “Save the spotted owl!” they (obviously) aren’t saying, “Which means fuck the Sumatran rhino!” Conservationists also don’t want the Sumatran rhino to perish, but they’re focusing in that moment on the spotted owl and how they can save them. This movement is about how all of us can acknowledge that black lives matter as much as other lives, and how we can acknowledge and change a system where that isn’t the case. #BlackLivesMatter #BLM
