It's so interesting, or eye-opening that a system you are born into and therefore see as normal, was actually built off the back of slavery. I'd love to learn about our own equivalent history here in the UK if anyone knows any films or documentaries. I also really enjoyed watching the series Naughts & Crosses on BBC iPlayer. It's based on the series by Malorie Blackman, which I'm told is better than the series, and is based in present day London. It imagines an alternate history where 700 years prior several nations in West Africa combined to form the powerful Aprican Empire, and went on to colonise Europe. It's really thought provoking, and definitely makes you come to terms with the concept of white privilege more. At least it did for me. I also really hope everyone is doing ok. ❤️」6月6日 23時04分
