When I was 23 years old, at the Minamiza Theatre.

I went into a meeting room, as someone wanted to see me.

Sitting there was a person in high position at NHK, and NHK’s famous TV producer Mr. Hisashi Ichii.

Since we didn’t have time, they quickly moved onto the main topic, “as a matter of fact, we’re going to do Miyamoto Musashi in the Taiga TV drama series 2 years later.”

“And we want you, Shinnosuke-kun, to play the role of Miyamoto Musashi.”
.
My heart thumped in excitement, it was the first big chance that came to me when I was young.
I took that role, and went into preparation.

First day of filming.
Ichii-san’s happy smile on his face,
I can’t forget.

During shooting period, we drank till morning and had a really good time.

And Ichii-san would always get so drunk, getting him on a taxi was the role of us youngsters too, ha-ha.

Ahh
the good old days
Tears.

And in the past few years, I had come across him while taking a walk, or coincidentally met him at a friend’s wedding. I was delighted to see him.

That Ichii-san, is it today?
Has departed to a place a bit far away.

I won’t forget his smiles.
I’m not going to pray for his soul.

I’m just sad,
that’s all.

南座公演

ある方が会いたいと
会議室に私は行った

そこに座っていたの
NHKの偉い方と
NHKの名物プロデューサー
一井久司。

時間もなかったので
早速本題に
実は再来年の大河ドラマを
宮本武蔵でやるのです。

新之助君に
その宮本武蔵をやってもらいたい。
と、

心が踊った、
若い私に最初に訪れた大きなチャンスだった。
私はお引き受けし、
準備に入った。

クランクイン
一井さんの嬉しそうな笑顔、
忘れられない。

撮影中は
朝まで飲んで
本当に楽しい日々だった。

そして
一井さんは
いつもヘベレケになり
タクシーに乗せるのも
我々若手の役目でした笑

あー
懐かしい
涙。

そしてここ数年散歩してたり
友達の結婚式でたまたま
お会いしたり、
嬉しかった。

そんな
一井さん今日なのかな？
すこし遠くに
旅立ったみたい、

笑顔忘れない。
心から
御冥福なんかも祈らない。

ただ
かなしい、
それだけです。
