They have exposed a lot of our cultural blind spots and made us realize just how unaware we have been about our white privilege. They have helped us better understand the severity of the structural and institutionalized racism affecting African-American and black people everywhere and the magnitude of the pain and suffering these communities have had to endure for years and to this day. We recognize that we still have a lot to learn and will be using today and the weeks ahead to listen and educate ourselves on these very serious issues. We urge you to do the same.
