#blacklivesmatter To my fellow white women and bloggers and design community: please do not say silent right now. Please show up, speak up AND act up: donate to bail funds and any organization supporting black lives and businesses and health. Look at your own business and life and look at the ways you can truly change to be more equitable and dismantle racist systems in your community. Learn about anti-racism and make the decision to do the work now and always. We cannot be afraid to call each other in about silence or other issues of racism, causal and overt, in our community. Don’t know where to start? First and foremost: listen to black people and their lived experiences. I’ve pinned a BLM story section at the top of my page FULL of resources for protest and donations and supporting black business and how to unpack your internal bias and work toward anti-racism in your life and work. Please start there first (or any other resource) rather than asking black people to provide ideas or suggestions. This is our work to do. Please please do not let fear or guilt/shame stop you, we have to do this work together 🖤 I am so grateful to the women in my life who have held me accountable and called me in when I needed to be (and still do)- thank you.
