We go way back 🖤 he was the first editor to view my collection. He then arranged for me to go directly to Anna Wintour at the Vogue offices. As I wheeled my rack in, with Virginia giving me supportive glances, Anna says to me, ‘What color are you wearing to the MET, it better not be black.’ Needless to say I changed my dress from black to cream that year. 🤍 As the years go on we all have ups & downs in our fields. The honesty and candor in which @andreltalley writes in his new novel, The Chiffon Trenches, is extraordinary to witness.
