Environmental Justice activist, Iris Gonzalez, has been doing work to determine what is needed in her community and has been using the ideas of a #GreenNewDeal to restore justice. @irisana84 and the Coalition for Environment, Equity and Resilience (CEER) in Houston are ensuring that communities constantly devastated by #climatechange are first to receive resources to rebuild after disasters. In light of this pandemic, vulnerable communities will need more protections. Through her work, Houston recently passed a resolution that ensures billions of dollars in flood recovery money goes to underserved communities. Iris and @ceer_houston are pushing to make sure those same folks are served by a Houston Climate Action Plan released just today, on #EarthDay2020.
