Lawmakers from Shenzhen, China proposed the strict legislation to ban residents from eating dog meat to improve food safety in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, but they are waiting for feedback from the public before signing it into law so we must spread awareness about this important new proposal to help make it into a law! The proposal also bars snake, frog and turtle meat from being consumed so this would be a HUGE win for animals everywhere, and humans too, considering how many deadly viruses have been created by unhygienic animal markets where these poor animals are sold. If this proposal from Shenzhen gets passed, it will be the first of its kind in the country which is MUCH NEEDED considering China is also home to the annual Yulin Dog Meat Festival in which thousands of dogs are cruelly killed, skinned and cooked with blow-torches before being eaten by the locals.
